What are Free Form lenses?
Free Form lenses are created by using complex maths calculations “Wavefront physics” and high tech computer controlled optical
lens surfacing technology “Free Form Surfacing”.
Wavefront lenses work to control image distortion. When light passes through any optical
system including; spectacles, cameras, binoculars, and even our own eyes, Though focused, the
image formed is always slightly imperfect or distorted.
Wavefront Technology calculates the path taken by light as it passes through many different points on
the optical surface of your glasses.
Using some complex maths a computer generated surface is then designed for your particular prescription/ lens type.
A new lens surface is designed that takes optical distortion into account -the result is glasses that give you unprecedented levels of
optical clarity. The new Free-Form lens represents a big step forward for today’s spectacle wearer. We have an introductory offer of
20% off your first pair of Freedom lenses.
There is no better time to upgrade so make the switch to clearer more comfortable vision.

the focus to a strong zone in the lower part of the lenses. They are also referred to as "Multifocal lenses".

FAQ regarding Free Form Lenses
Q What are the disadvantages of my existing conventional Progressives?
A. Despite the enormous popularity of standard progressive glasses they do have some serious limitations. Enjoyment of wearing
multifocal spectacles has been limited by narrow fields of view. Other wearers experienced distorted vision and a swimming sensation
when looking through the peripheral part of their glasses
Image Distortion Caused by Standard PAL

These problems have been mostly overcome with application of WAVEFRONT TECHNOLOGY to Multifocal/ Progressive spectacles.
Q What is Wave front Technology and how does it work?
A. Wave front lenses work by controlling image distortion. When light passes through any optical system including; spectacles,
cameras, Binoculars, and even our own eyes, the image formed is always slightly imperfect or distorted. Wave front Technology
calculates the path taken by light as it passes through many different points on the optical surface of your glasses.
Using some complex maths a computer generated surface is then designed for your individual prescription and lens type. This surface
cancels out unwanted aberration. It is combined with your spectacle lenses to give you unprecedented levels of optical clarity.

Getting the best vision from your new Progressive lenses.
Best Posture for Reading With PAL lenses the best area for reading is found in the lower area of the lens.
To optimise your near Vision you need to position reading material about 40° below the horizontal line of
vision as shown in this figure:-
- The lateral field of view is not as wide as found in single vision reading glasses. Accordingly you
may need to move your head a little to take in the full width of the page.
- Progressive lenses offer a more natural visual experience. Unlike single vision designs PALs give
you a continuous range of focus- from up close to far away.
